Luke grew up in the Del Oro Basketball Program. He began attending Junior Eagle camps, run by former coach Joe Hites, at the age of 8. Luke knew then that he wanted to be a Golden Eagles athlete. Luke played varsity basketball and baseball, earning 1st Team All-SFL in both his junior and senior seasons, in both sports. As a coach he believes that nothing beats hard work and commitment.

"We are in the business of building great STUDENT athletes. I expect our Del Oro athletes to be young men who are leaders on campus, at home, and on the basketball court. I expect them to be elite students, sons, brothers, friends and teammates. If they can do that, then they will have an incredible 4 years at Del Oro."

"My favorite part of coaching is the relationships that are formed. Every year presents great challenges and obstacles to overcome. The only consistent thing about a team is the way you feel about them at the end of the season. We start the beginning of the year with a roster of young men, some we know, some we are getting to know. By the end, I feel like we have added 15 sons to the family. The bond we get to share with these young people is and will always be my favorite part of basketball."
